The German BfR is proposing to strengthen the existing PAH limits to 0.2 mg/kg for Category 2 consumer products covered by the GS Mark.
Philippines FDA Bans BPA in Food Contact Products for Young Children

The Philippines FDA has imposed a ban on BPA in infant feeding bottles and sippy cups. The provisions will become effective 30 days after its publication in two newspapers of general circulation.
US State of Vermont Revises CHCC Reporting Rule for Children’s Products

Vermont has recently adopted a revision to its disclosure program for children’s products. The new provisions will become effective on August 15, 2019.
Trinidad and Tobago Consults Over Draft Mandatory Standard on Toy Safety

The Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago has initiated a consultation period for its draft mandatory standard on the migration of heavy metals from toy materials. The new standard is expected to become effective by March 2020.
EU Amends Maximum Residue Levels for Pesticides in Certain Products

On June 20, 2019, the European Union announced Commission Regulation amending Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council regarding MRLs of pesticides in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin.
A New App is Being Developed to Track SVHCs in Consumer Products

In the EU, a mobile app is being developed to provide information on material content within products directly to consumers. Once finalized, it will provide quick access to details of any SVHC contained in a consumer product.
